In the video performances of C.L. Hause, he has used subject matter, characters, and image sequences obtained from his own dreams and nightmares to create his own mythology that is based upon these images. His work started with paintings of male forms surrounded by vibrant colors, but as time went on he saw himself being drawn away from painting and more into creating life size charcoal drawings. He was being drawn from the light of reality into a darkness of myth. He believed that this happened because as he continued to expand his work with black-and-white video, the more the drawings felt at home in this personalized b&w world.  It is from this world, a series of performance art videos was born.
