Works On Paper

C.L. Hause, studied to receive a Master of Fine Arts Degree under the late Artist and Professor Vito Acconci (1940-2017), and best-selling Book Artist and President Professor Archie Rand (The 613), has used the guidance of his mentors to redevelop and take his work to a new extreme.  Hause is a part of a group that was fortunate to benefit from the last year of instruction by legendary Acconci, who commented that Hause’s work was “onto something.”

In a review of Hause’s work, author and curator Heather Darcy Bhandari referred to his work as “Life-sized charcoal drawings of male figures are sexually charged beings, caught in a graphic white void.  A simple read of bondage and homo-eroticism … including video that brings several of these characters to life.  Mysticism pervades the film as hybrid humans occupy a space of fantasy, spirituality and a dark unknown.”
